Divine Trap skill and other questions ? |
|
Hello, I'm on my 3rd group and slowly learning this game. Anyway, my Priest acquired divine trap skill but I don't know how to use it correctly. so faR a blue box outline surrounds the trap disarm devices but bashing or trying to pick still gets me Drained or whatever the trap is. And what are the 2 disarm devices for?
And do the enemies level up as the group does? Spellcasters especially turn my group into a salad quickly! thanks |

Let's see here. I think I'll work backwards.
The game has an autoleveller that will adjust the level of the critters to stay challenging for your party (although different regions have different ranges that the autoleveller works in, and the autoleveller only affects random encounters not scripted ones).
Spell casting critters are tough for everyone in the early game. You'll want to be able to cast a strong "magic screen" as early in the game as you can and keep it running at all times. Later on in the game, you'll rely on "soul shield" and "elemental shield" in addition to the "magic screen"
For traps, the manual (pages 50 thru 52) does a pretty good job explaining it. Divine trap does not remove the trap. It will increase the success percentage of the character (rogue, bard, gadgeteer, ninja) that inspects the trap and disarms it. You have to inspect every trap before trying to disarm it. The process (initially) will go something like this: get the trap display, select your priest and cast divine trap, select your lockpick (whoever you're developing the locks-n-traps skill on), click on the inspect button and hold your breath, by scrolling thru the list of traps choose the trap-type that has the same combination of components as what you've inspected, still using your lockpick guy click on each trap component one at a time and hold your breath. If your lockpick's skill is high enough, you can disable each part of the trap and then you're good to go.
Hope this helps. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Sorry. No pearls of wisdom in this oyster.
