I just recieved this awesome game yesterday...messed around with it for a while to get a feel for the different classes and decided I wanted to make a somewhat unorthodox party to make it a bit more challenging and fun possibly. So I have a Lord, a Monk, a Ranger, an Alchemist, a Bishop and a Mage...no Priest. I forgot though, since Bishops get all four spellbooks, are they restricted from getting certain spells in general, like identify? She's level 5 now and there's no sign that I can gain that spell. I have a feeling it's going to be very very difficult going through the game without identify. Something I just thought of...perhaps her spell levels are just pushed back a bit in relation to her physical levels (if that's what the manual means by "learning spells slower"). Therefore, my question is: Are her available "spell levels" dependent on physical level, or corresponding spellbook skill? In any case, this game is the best RPG I've ever played.

Your Monk and Bishop can learn identify. It just takes a little longer for them to learn it.

Hello...
Enjoy this game. You can read our discussion about alternativ party (I mean not "strongest possible" but "most interesting") here.
I am glad that you say that it is best RPG ever. I am blad because I really like this game. This game makes me fan of "hardcore" RPGs.
