Editor doesn't work... :((

Finally I got Morrowind! I've installed the first CD, and strangely it installed also de editor. I say 'strangely' because I thought that the editor was in the 2nd cd, and the installation progeam didn't ask that CD, just installed it. So I run the editor. Try to open the master file, and appears an error window. I've uninstalled the editor and decided to install it from the 2nd CD. It dosn't intall. An error appears, telling to contact Pete Hines bla bla bla...

What's the problem???!!!!

To be more specific, the first CD installs everything, game and editor. The editor CD contains additional files you may need including additonal textures, icons, etc.

To start the editor, put the editor CD in your drive (as you may need it) launch the editor, under File>Data Files (or just click the open icon), double click Morrowind.esm so that there is an X in the box. Click OK and it will load the default world. Select a cell in the Cell view window (double click) and it will load that cell for you to look at, edit, whatever.

After you're done making changes to the default world and select save from the file menu, you are given the option of naming your esp file (or mod). If you go back to the File>Data Files window, you will notice that the file you saved is now on the list and marked as Active File (if you have others they will show Plugin File). In the future if you want to change your mod, you need to mark it as Active after you double click to put an X in it's box (along with the marked Morrowing.esm file at the top). If you don't mark it as active, you will not be able to save any changes you make to it.

I would strongly encourage you to read the help files in the TES editor as well as visit some of the tutorial sites around the internet before you start adding stuff to containers (like weapons, gold, potions, etc.). A good place to start is http://www.weathersong.net/tomorrow/tuts/ .

Hope this helps
