Assigning 'hotkeys' in Divine Divinity

I would like to know how to assign a specific key to do a specific thing in Divine Divinity. The manual doesn't explain it (or at least I haven't found it in the manual).
For example, if I wanted F4 to be a hot key for teleporting, I would want to teleport every time I pressed F4. How do I set this up? I hit Alt F12 and that brings up the "key" list; but thats as far as I know what to do. What next?

Hi Max, I believe you just bring out your skills listing on the right and highlight the skill or spell that you want and press a Function key.

Correct. It also works for weapons and potions, not just skills.
