What PC RPG's are coming up? |
|
I was looking at a few of my favourite gaming websites and; other than Gothic II; I don't see much in the future for PC (off-line) RPG games. Can anyone enlighten me on what's coming up. |

Well let me see. August will bring us Icewind Dale II and maybe also Valhalla Chronicles an ISO RPG with a norsk setting. August of september we can play Divine Divinity.
Of course all of these are 2D ISO games, but they are released before Gothic 2. And after august... who knows what RPG's we might get.
Am I doing this all from the top of my head???? No from here _________________ Kewl quotes:

Warcraft 3 is a strategy game with some RPG elements thrown in. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Then it is a strategy game.

According to latest Rend's impressions, Arx Fatalis is gonna rock. If you like hybrids, Deus Ex 2 should be released in Q4. _________________ --=Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=--

I have to watch out for that Valhalla Chronicles game. I never heard of it before (thanx Myrthos) but it definitely sounds interesting.
I don’t know about Divinity. I tried the demo for a short while and wasn’t really awestruck by what I saw but you guys hype it a lot so it must have some potential.
I never tried the Arx demo since its FPV and ….well, I don’t like it. Morrowind is a great game but it didn’t cure my problem with FPV. _________________ "You'll never see me coming..."

Valhalla Chronicles is in beta at the moment. You can click on the game link, to check out the developer site where you can still register for it.
@DzD: We only report about games from the RPG point of view and we only list RPG's. So any game that is even remotely an RPG is listed as an RPG. There are no other choices. We have to get the thenthousand of newsbits a year from something _________________ Kewl quotes:

The only other ones I know about, are the various remakes of Ultima, some of which are due out this year, and Grimoire which is also scheduled for release this year as well. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

Lionheart seems interesting to me. Although many already criticise it for using an "Infinity Engin-like" type of graphic engin, I think it sounds pretty good if it delivers. _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=

where you get that info from MoonDragon |
|
Where do you get that info from Moondragon? Far as my resources show, City of Heroes is still cooking. MMORPG of E3, and also the site itself is giving the grit on whats new in the game and what to expect. Gamespot has not even given any knowledge of technical problems and other sites are saying this game is looking good. Maximum PC magazine giving dirt on it as well.
Guess we will see:) Doubt I will play it. Got enough MMORPGs lined up. Star Wars Galaxies and EQ2 (maybe). |

It was a newsbit on their website. To paraphrase it, it said something like "after E3, we sat down and re-evaluated where we are. For all parties concerned we realized it would be best if we delay the release date by X many months." (where, as far as I remember, X = 6.) What that means is that they have technical difficulties they don't know how to fix. This delay is a double edged sword. On one hand it means that they have problems, on the other hand it means that they have management that is flexible enough to acknowledge technical difficulties and delay release (ah, if only more companies had such management). As far as I remember, the current release date is somewhere in Q2 2004. _________________ (@) |
