Once again, a round with questions answered
Does combat play like Arx?
Not really. I find it easier than in Arx.
Customising character:
You can customize sex, face, hair - seperately. Some models do look better than others.
Worst features of Morrowind:
Although it might sound stupid, it is hard to think of any. Maybe that they omitted riding - but that's a non-feature. Of those implemented. none is really bad. Combat is the weakest, IMHO, but still very good.
Map and fog:
Yes, you have black fog. You have to explore. Compass: no, but a small arrow that points the direction you look.
Story:
I haven't followed the main quest enough to be able to tell.
Combat options:
Neither swinging your mouse nor click-click-click. Small movements, some clicking. Good design, IMHO.
Size of the gameworld:
MUCH larger than Gothic. MUCH MUCH larger . Towns apart, well, I guess if you try to walk from one end of the island to the other, and if you never stop and never look, it would take you some hours real time. Or let me say this: after having played 20 hours, I have seen app. 10-15% of the land, if it is that much. And I haven't nearly seen everything in these 10-15%.
Benefit of not having best attack on?
I think applebrown has eplained it very well.
How many towns have I visited in 16 hours?
2 villages, two towns, one settlement. Creatures on low level: so far I have seen app. 10 species. Spells: You don't learn them. You buy them. And you can create them by yourself (millions of it). And how often did I leave my computer: a couple of times Main reasons: kissing my girlfriend, eating and the contrary of it *g*
Third person view: I haven't tried third person view ranged combat yet. I can imagine this could be a problem. I am am first person view fanatic, but funny enough when not fighting, I enjoy third person view in Morrowind as well. _________________ Rendelius

Just one small technical question: Did you set your Anti-Aliasing to 2x, 4x or even higher on your videocard?
I have a similar system like yours and was planning on playing it in the same resolution (1024x768@32bit color) but without AA turned on.
But since you said it does make MW look even more beautifull I'm starting to change my mind |

Thanks,
As for my own new question, is levitating useful, or hard to control?

Ok, tried it now: 2x antialiasing is the best compromise on my system. 4x is slow, quintcux or how it is called is just washed out.
When is it gold? No idea. Soon *g*
Only the cat-headed Khajiiti are in the game. _________________ Rendelius

Are there any of the boring quests such as: "Rid my house of rats" and "guard the quild for 8 hours" like there was in Daggerfall? To me Daggerfall was ahead of the other games in night and day scenes and weather conditions; have you noticed the night and day and weather conditons. I also assume there are no random dungeons like before either. |

How's the music; should I set Winamp to low resource-using mode or will I be ok? _________________ Make good choices. |

Levitation:
It is both useful and easy to control. It's as if there's no gravity and instead of walking forward, you can walk straight up. There's usually a time limit and best of all there are places that you can only get to by using levitation.

Thank you
Well... if you cast levitation on an NPC will (s)he automatically run upwards, only to fall to his/her death a few moments later, or will they only levitate when chasing you? _________________ Make good choices. |

I think you can only cast Levitation on yourself. Some NPC's might already have the spell but I don't know whether they'd cast it in combat.
Good idea though... about casting Lev on yourself and then pummeling a say... fighter type from below.
