I am seriously thinking about buying DAoC, but I'm not into the whole traveling with a party thing, I would like to know if it would be possible to play the game and just play by myself, will it still be an enjoyable experience, or is it only fun to play with a party. I've read reviews, but don't quite understand what the whole game is based around, and how it works, such as quests, and character building.

You should try checking out these sites:

daoc.warcry.com, http://www.ofcamelot.com

Both are good sites for learning.

I play the US version myself, I wouldn´t be caught dead playing the EU version.

I won't go into a huge essay on DAoC, but if you are against "grouping" you probably will not enjoy the game.

It is possible to "solo" rather weel up until level 40, but all content after level 40 is best experienced when grouped.

As for the PvP aspect of the game access to a good group and a well structured guild is mandatory for effectiveness. You can create an archer or assassin character and solo PvP, but you will be spending a huge amount of down time for travel since rez-support is important.
