It's Ultima, Jim - but not as you know it. |
|
On first glance, it appears to be a retro-styled multiplayer knock-off of Ultima 4 or 5.
Stick around, and you'll find a highly polished, constantly evolving world with an active and influential playerbase. It has a complex character and skills system and some extremely well-designed and creative maps, despite the limitations that the apparently crude interface might indicate.
If you're a hard core Ultima fanboy, there'll be little of the genre to entice you. It isn't even remotely Ultima.
If you dig retro graphics, particularly old-school ultima-esque graphics, then leap on in. The look and feel is part of the developer's mandate.
If you're into a character development and skills system that rivals Ultima Online in its complexity, then look no further.
Besides... it's free! |
