WHY!!!! Why did I turn myself in??!!!

I killed a commoner just because I'm a crazy assassin you know. Anyway, after I did I went to talk to a guard and I automatically turned myself in. what's with that?

Because God hates Canada.

PS. Why not turn yourself in? The fine is lower than if you get run down like the criminal freak you are.

If you don't turn yourself in some guard will eventually rush up to you anyway. Personally, I don't do anything "bad" (ie nothing that puts a bounty on my head) because there's no way I'm going to give up my stuff or my experience. Although perhaps a goody-two shoes assassin is not really much of a character.

Questions:

1) Did a quest for the Morag Tong. It was reported as a crime. Gave the Ordinator the writ. He took all my HONESTLY ACQUIRED soul gems. WHY?

2) Where can I get the stuff an Ordinator takes? Are they in an evidence locker somewhere in Vivec or do they wind up in Ebonheart?

If the evidence locker is in Vivec, my guess is they wind up in the moon thingy, but just looking for clarification before I go digging up Rising Force potions.

Thanks...Off to Ebonheart to get my legally acquired stuff back. Curse those creepy guards.

The Morag Tong quests are quite entertaining though. Enjoying them more than any of the others besides trying to work the end of the Fighters Guild and Thieves Guild quests simultaneously. It can be done - you just have to be very careful about how you do it.

how do you do that

So it's possible to remain member of both guilds? I figured that at some point to complete fighters guild stuff i'd have to tick off the theivs guild and be known as a criminal.
