Hi, I've played Arx before under windows xp but for some reason it will not install now It just hangs after i input the destination directory, the progress bar pops up and it just hangs and does nothing. I've reecently formatted and done a fresh install of xp pro and everything else is working fine. Please help. Thanks in advance! |

If you had the game installed before go in and make sure all the JoWood files are deleted. That will stop a new install. Do a search and delete them. Then try. If that doesn't help then it is out of my league. You can wait for some of the more tech minded to show up or try the JoWood boards for tech questions and see if there is something there. I know when I did an uninstall and then wanted to install again, it was the left over JoWood files that messed me up. Also make sure your virus stuff is off before install. Hope you get it fixed. Maybe you can post what you find for the next guy. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

It worked I disabled everything I have running, antivirus software etc..... and it installed fine Thanks for the help! I'm off to play this excellent game now, played it before but got stuck after a while and I'm not one for cheating so I'll try and stick at it this time, I'm sure it'll be worth it, i love these good old fashioned dungeon crawling, puzzle solving games! |

May I make two suggestions? One is be sure to install the patch if you haven't already, and the other is don't feel like you are cheating if you have to use the PDF file to finish the game. I am afraid one flaw in the game is that it lacks a lot of ingame direction as to what to do ro where to go next. It is a great game and the PDF is almost a must to get it done. Do like I did, play for and hour or so and then just check the PDF to be sure you didn't muck it up or miss something. And save, save, and save again. Have fun. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

Go to the hosted sites list here on the left and go to Arx. Then find the support files. It is there. You can down load and print, which I found easier, then you have all the maps, the walkthrough, and all the special things in one lump sum. Up to you of course. Check it out. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=
