Snapple "Real Fact" #147

I'm having a little trouble understanding this Snapple "Real Fact" and thought the collective intellegence of the Dot could help me out with this one.

Here it is:
quote:
Panama is the only place in the world where you can see the sun rise on the Pacific and set on the Atlantic.

Is this possible in some strange, round-about way or did they screw up when they wrote this?

I think thats correct.

Check this map: http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/maps/pm-map.gif

North is up, the sun rises in the east (in the right) and if you notice, the people who live in Chitré will see the sun rise in the pacific.
