Chronicles of Riddick aka Pitch Black 2 |
|
Pitch Black was a movie I did not want to see. With expectations quite low I finally rented it in 2000. Definitely an aliens rip-off...but I loved every minute of it. From the junkie cop to the Newt clone and who can forget the anti-hero Riddick.
This June the sequel, "Chronicles of Riddick", is hitting theaters. The trailer rocks!
Also, I absolutely hate games based on movies because 9 times out of 10 they really suck. I know Enter the Matrix sold 2 million copies but that game plays like crap. Two Towers actually played quite well...it just needed an option to skip video sequences. Anyway, screen-shots for Riddick the game conjure up nods to Doom3 & Deus Ex Invisible War. I am sure this game will suck too, but you never know.
How much do you hate or love Pitch Black? Do you have any interest in the Sequel? _________________ Between the years when the oceans drank Atlantis and the gleaming cities…there was an Age undreamed of, when shining kingdoms lay spread across the world like blue mantles beneath the stars…Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand…to tread the jeweled thrones of the Earth under his sandaled feet. - Robert E. I liked Pitch Black. I saw it in theaters and didn't regret the 5 bucks I spent doing so in the slightest. I hadn't heard of a sequel but it's something I'd consider seeing. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

I was so surprised when I saw Pitch Black on TV for the first time, because up to that point I had never heard of it. This well-made B-picture happened to impress me so much I had to get the DVD.
(Sure, I'm easily impressed by well-made B flicks... Ravenous... Death Machine... The Bunker all come to my mind now, all little movies which surprised me to no end because I hadn't thought they would be any good)
For some reason I can't put a finger on I didn't like the 'Chronicles' trailer very much, though. I just hope they didn't butcher the nice concept by doing this sequel.
We'll see. _________________ Jaz |

Is this the movie where Vin Diesel is a prisoner who had his eyes altered so he could see in the dark? If so, I really liked it too. The plot's full of holes, but there's something about the tense scenes that more than make up for it. I didn't even know there was a sequel coming out. |

More high-budget special effects vs. B-movie feel? _________________ -=Professional Secret Agent=-

That might be it. Whenever I notice a concentration on impressive effects instead of decent scripts, I start to get cautious. _________________ Jaz |

I guess this would be the official site with trailer. - Robert E. Trailer looked decent enough for me to say it's on my watch list. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi
