VtM: Bloodlines - Forum Tidbits |
|
Troika programmer Brizock called into the RPG Codex forums and made a few interesting comments about the dialogue in Vampire: Bloodlines in this thread:
Actually, we've got 130+ characters with branching dialog, totalling out to over 5000 lines. Each line has been recorded by a voice actor and is lip-synced for in-game playback. Bloodlines is probably going to have the richest, deepest dialog system of any Action / RPG hybrid for quite some time, and honestly trumps a lot of past "traditional" RPGs as well. If a person is interested in games for story, (pc and npc) character development, and reactive dialog, I think they'll be very, very happy with what we've put together. Most of it is skippable for players who just want to get in and punch or shoot things, but I think they'll be missing out if they prefer to do that.
Only a few more days... |

Do you have your monitor set to some weird frequency or are you using an LCD monitor? Try reinstalling your display adapter drivers. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

I can tell you the specific problem.
Val is on the right track - the refresh rate is too high. This is because you either don't have a monitor selected in Windows (you are using the default/ 'plug & play monitor') or you have the wrong one selected, so the game doesn't know the correct range of refresh rates it can use.
Click Start, Run and type 'dxdiag' <enter>
Hit the 'More Help' tab - last on the right
Hit 'Override'
Select 'Override Value'. Enter 60 if you don't know the an appropriate refresh rate for your monitor
Click OK, etc
This will fix the problem but at some point you may want to load the correct settings for your monitor and remove the override. _________________ Editor @ RPGDot |
