a polar bear, though I would not call that squeezing, rather huging. They're more huggable anyway.

Ooo, now that's a toughie. Hrm... I'll go with economics, especially if it's about how economies have affected history. Engineering is a close second though.

ENT. The ear, the nose, and the throat are needed for hearing, smelling and breathing, respectively. They are certainly more useful than some god from some myth.
