| Site Functioning Problem? |

I have noticed last two days now, that the UNREAD notice for the entire site seem to be malfunctioning. Once I go to one forum to read posts, all of the posts and forums are marked as READ. Thought I would throw that out there as I know I am not alone.

Works fine here... however... are you visiting the main site as well as the forums?
I was confused over a similar issue myself a while back, and Myrthos kindly explained it to me: both the main site and the forums keep a timestamp of your last visit, so if you visit the main site first then drop into the forums, the "posts since last visit" process thinks you've only just been there, so doesn't mark anything as requiring reading.
If this is your problem, make sure you always visit the forums first, or make a point of visiting the main site in an alternate browser that you're not logged in to. I delegate this task to IE, as since Firefox came along the poor thing doesn't have much else to do. 
EDIT: Errr, heh. Except the site has just lost my "last visit" history as well. Oops!

Lol, this just happened to me! the RPGDot forum was marked as having unread posts, but when I clicked it, everything was marked as read. Strange.

It's happening to me too but only lately I didn't have any problems until now, but now when I click to enter one forum its just read. Its hard to track what's already been read or not.

Everybody who is logged in permanently seems to experience this problem while those who aren't always logged in can't log in at all.

Well as long as it's not just me, and the powers that be are aware, I'm sure they will get it fixed soon. They always do a great job here.

Sounds like a database problem, we had simmilar problems at one forum once but I have no idea how it got fixed so I can't really help. But I'm sure that sooner or later RPGDot Staff will solve the problem. (As always.  )

I didn't experience the problem... but then again I'm realy nice to the database and give it hugs and kisses. I guess it just likes me 
Then again..... I could have mentioned something to it that it din't like. I think it feels better now, so try again....

I am having that problem occasianly too. but not since recently but already for a long time, sometimes it pops up for a few days, sometimes it dissapears after I read some posts

I've had that problem for a few days. I logged in, but it then left me with a blank screen. Luckily it's working again.

Decided just to say that the unread is not working right again, at least it seems to be off on the main forum index, but on in the individual forums. I know you guys will fix it for us. Unless of course it is just me, then I am in trouble.
