Dragon helm freeze

I have put together the complete Dragon armour set, but it does not work. Whenever I put the helm on and then try to move, the game freezes solid. I run 1034 on WinXp, but I am pretty sure that I installed the patch correctly (all other features work...)

Any ideas why this happens?

Level 45 sorceress, fresh out in the wastelands (jut through the cinematics) All pieces ready, worn belt and gloves for long. From the 5 levels earned for getting Divine I increased the strength to be able to wear all pieces.
Tested them piece by piece - armour ok, shield ok.
I can put on the helmet, and even get the graphics change for both the helmet, and the blessing (character continues swaying her hips ) And if I do not try to move anywhere, I am still free to arrange the inventory, I can even take the helm off.
Problem arises if I try to get the character to move. The game freezes, mouse does not move, and if I'm in luck, I can shut the game with alt+ctrl+del in 2-3 tries (if not, the keyboard is also blocked, so alt+ctrl+poweroff...)

Was this what you asked for, or am I an even greater lamer than I think myself to be?

I meant what type of video card and such that you are using.
You may want to update their drivers. Especially if you have a Radeon. The game has problems with Radeon cards.

Sh*t. I knew, I would give myself away
I'm using an ABIT Siluro GF4 MX. I believe I've updated it a couple months ago, but I will check.

Ok, I've done a bit more experimenting. The results:

1) VGA card driver date 06/30/2003
2) Neither resolution nor AlphaBit solves the problem.
3) The graphics is loaded correctly from any angle, and I could even draw/sheath sword OK, the only problem is the movement...
4) Tried it with other closed helmets, and got the same result

It seems that I will have to reserve to putting up the helmet before tough battles to get the +20 stats and then get it off my head at once.

I've been trying to research your bug, but I can't find anyone who has had the same problem.

Perhaps this tips and troubleshooting thread will prove useful: http://www.larian.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=TechnicalE&Number=82516&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1
