WoW: Blizzard doesn't understand Paladins? @ GamePro |
|
GamePro is usually a wasteland for decent content but this article at least raises some questions, as they look at the plans for WoW's upcoming 1.9 release and ask Blizzard doesn't understand Paladins?
First off, let's get some things straight: the paladin has substantially improved for PvP over the last patch. And the strike system of the Beta paladin wasn't anything outstanding--especially when you consider that the wannabe Heroic Strikes consumed more mana at the cost of less damage.

Yet, fundamental problems still remain with the revamped Paladin class. It's not that Paladins are underpowered, weak, or even dull (Shaman dropping totems in PvE is almost as bad). At 1.9, Paladins are by no means a pushover. The problem is Blizzard poorly designed the class--and worse yet, doesn't know what to do with it.
|

I really do not know what the problem is with people playing Paladins.I watched a 56 Pally kick a 56 elite mobs ass and the mob was a hard hitting guard.I could not believe it.The Paladin just paused half way through, shielded himself with some impenetrable aura, healed himself and continued on to easily beat the mob.I think they are over powered to say the least. |

Paladins are the ultimate whiners. They want to keep their huge defensive advantage and do as much damage as warriors/rogues. You can't have both, paladins are already a very difficult/time consuming to class to kill in pvp because of heals/bubble. If they had more dps, it would be completely unbalanced. |

that's one way to look at it, they live extremely long because they can go invul and heal over and over. but to actually play that imba paladin is boring to the extreme. the only thing you can do is hoping for critical hits it seems. Nobody says paladins are reall underpowered, but they are just boring to play despite the cool ideas. And there are far too much paaldins on most servers too. _________________ If you can't debate without namecalling then don't bother visiting us. -Myrthos |

I made the mistake of taking a paladin to 60 and its not just an issue of boredom. pre-60 paladins are godly pve. The problem is that post-60 (ie the majority of the game for most) paladins really serve no useful purpose pve or pvp. So its not a question of being ablet to solo an elite at x level, but what you actually bring to the table endgame. Currently thats not much and thats not likely to change. Myself, I don't whine, I just play my other characters post 60. |
