Best way to use Bartok and Lehmars Journal

First go get Ignaz' oblivion scroll (Updated. hehe, thanks for the idea)
Learn Sneak from him. Go Hunting and have him go all the way out til he kills
the orc scout. Then kill him out in the woods. With this done:
1) you complete Bospers quest
2) you complete Harads quest
3) Sneak learned, you can kill Jesper and get the key to the door that has Finger's chest instead of waiting for chapter 3. (The chests has a dex potion and +15 to str amulet)
4) and you get all his stuff, nd no repercussions from the town.

Lehmars Journal:
Sell to Torben 200xp, he will train you in LP for free (then buy it back)
Sell to Coragon 200xp, he will give you +1 mana beer
(and another for getting back his silver, and another if you pass on the "beat Valentino's ass ring to him) buy the journal back and lastly
Sell to Hannah, you get the key to the unpickable chest on the thieves island stash and a lp for the other chest. (Watch the spikes)

Yeah, i knew all of this, but one thing isn't clear to me: Why did you kill Bartok?
If it was for his items, you can always knock him out!
