G2 texture update - very soon!

PostalDudeīs unofficial texture update for Gothic 2 is finished. It will be released very soon!

Features:
It replaces all textures except 1 or 2 dozen with new HQ textures.

Requirements:
Gothic v1.30+ with or without TNotR.

Size:
~95 MB compressed.

Installation:
Very easy. Uncompress, copy the file into the correct directory, start the game. The game imports it automatically. Remove the file to uninstall.

The problems:
1. Itīs untested on international versions except UK _or_ US (donīt know which one!). Thereīs no reason why it shouldnīt run, though.
2. We donīt have screenshots yet.

This means we need guinea pigs who would like to test it and helpful people who can make before & after screenshots of the same locations. Your old savegames still work, so this shouldnīt be a problem.
Getting screenshots online ASAP is important, to make sure everybody understands where the primary download location for this file is. So if anybody volunteers, maybe I could give him the download link a few hours earlier.

Does that mean that it only works without the addon?

Yes. Of course you could try what happens if you use it with the add-on. PostalDude doesnīt have TNotR yet.

screen shots

just a few I had time to gather
http://img174.echo.cx/img174/9709/g200010ao.jpg-monastery of innos
http://img185.echo.cx/img185/8044/g200029oy.jpg- front of monastery look at the bridge
http://img32.echo.cx/img32/6630/g200048rc.jpg the city market square
http://img32.echo.cx/img32/5669/g200056ny.jpg the city near vatras
http://img32.echo.cx/img32/4638/g200062ij.jpg upper quarters
http://img183.echo.cx/img183/741/g200092zs.jpg the docks
http://img45.echo.cx/img45/9825/g200107in.jpg look at the chalice (zoom in)
anyway that's it for now, seems like a nice render I'm going to the vom soon so we'll see what changed there, I think he did some of the mountains too but I'm not sure, also you'll prob need to ajust the brightness lvl after installing it, cause everything looks darker somehow.
I have notr and it works fine for me

Cptmaxon, I think what's we're looking for here is screenshots with and without so we can compare.

Also, it looks like there are ugly seams.

The monastery's bridge, market square's and dock's pavement really need some more work (make them more dirtier) ... they just don't fit in. But that's my opinion. Everything else looks good.

By the way ... when is this file released to public ?

Sorry i didnt understand@?@!
I understood that it will exist a new game (like a new addon) with updated textures.
But its unofficial as i know.... You mean that everyone can download it and to
update his textures in Gothic 2-addon.
Pm me or email me the link if it will exist the update.
