LIONHEART GOES GOLD

Big thanks to our friends from RPGCodex for letting us know, that Lionheart has gone gold today and should be out in august. This is the official press release minus company info:
Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader Goes Gold

Fast Paced medieval RPG coming for PC this August

LOS ANGELES, CA (July 16, 2003) - Vivendi Universal Games and Interplay Entertainment Corp (OTCBB:IPLY) announced today Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader has gone gold. This original PC role-playing game from award-winning Black Isle Studios, and developed by Reflexive Entertainment, combines an intriguing story of alternate medieval history and fast paced real-time combat. It also features the SPECIAL system for character advancement previously found in the Fallout? series of PC games. Hordes of monsters, hundreds of weapons and items and over 60 spells are found in the game to challenge your combat and spell-casting abilities. Get ready to enter a hauntingly familiar yet fantastically foreign world to our own.

It is 1588 A.D. Because of one fateful event during the Third Crusade, the history of this Earth diverged. This event, the Disjunction, ripped open a long-sealed breach to other worlds. Magic energy and powerful spirits flowed into the world, changing the lands and the people forever. To some who could comprehend the nature of these new forces, the introduction of magic has brought great power. To the common folk, magic is feared as the handiwork of evil. In this new, yet strangely familiar setting, the player must decide how to best develop their character's skills and abilities to triumph over obstacles to discover the meaning of their true fate.

Lionheart is my most-anticipated title so far this year, so I for one am certainly looking forward to it.

Indeed. I myself am very much looking forward to both games, as well as KOTOR. I'm torn on which I'm more excited about between the two of them, Lionheart or TTOEE.

Greyhawk: The Temple of Elemental Evil

Some call it "Greyhawk" others "ToEE" or "TToEE"...it's quite an long title so we all abbreviate it.

So, is this game closer to Diablo, or Baulder's Gate?

@Jung: Fallout with real time combat

Yes this is definitely a must have title.

Neither is good fit, really.

Lionheart has action-oriented RT-limited-pause-play combat. It's focused on a single char with followers rather than full party control. The underlying system has been adapted from Fallout's SPECIAL.

So...I guess the "action" and "single character" parts might sound Diablo but the called-shots and other Fallout-like influences and limited pause should add considerable depth.

The devs have stressed that diplomacy/sneak are viable paths with only one combat being absolutely unavoidable (assuming you have the stats/skills to sneak/talk past everything else) BUT there's also action combat for those that follow that path.
