| action button doesn't work |

i just started Gothic, and i wanted to pick up a pick-axe, so i press the sction button (left control), but nothing happened, i changed the settings, so that the action button was the F button, nothing happened...
how do i fix this?
(btw: is the left ctrl button the same as the left mouse button, because when i press the left mouse button, nothing happens)

yes, thanks, i already found out.
i think my problem was that i was used to Gothic II.
