Spellforce 2 Box Art

From the chainmail bikini department comes this box art for Spellforce 2: Shadow Wars... <br> <br><table cellpadding="1" align="center"><tr><td width="107"><a href="http://newspics.rpgdot.com/imageview.php?dir=gallery/1136/Artwork/&name=packshot.jpg" target="ImageView"><img src="http://newspics.rpgdot.com/gallery/1136/Artwork/tn_packshot.jpg" border=0 alt="Display full image"></a></td></tr></table>

I unashamedly admit to having purchased the first Spellforce solely because of the box art. Lucky for me I ended up enjoying the game.

I really hope Spellforce 2 doesn't suck because thanks to you Dhruin, I'm now compelled to pre-order it at the first opportunity.

I guess I'm just getting old and cranky, but that box art pisses me off in a way. Dont get me wrong, it's gorgeous, and it is now my desktop wallpaper here at work, so it's not because I think it's ugly. And I dont hate women, Ive always loved them and have no choice in the matter really, and in some ways lament that fact. No, I feel the same conflicting sense of slightly aroused disappointment that I felt at the beginning of the "bad girl" craze in comics, which seemed to suddenly transform the cover of every comic I read into some degree of super-geek soft porn advertising.

Spare us the chain mail bikinis on the cover for Pete's sake, if you want to have them in the game thats fine, but .. I dont know. Im just rambling, i woke up on the wrong side of the coffin this morning and have no patience for lowest common denominator mentality. And who the heck is this "Pete" I and others are always referencing? St Peter?

You're not unsettled at all by her deformed abdomen and ribcage, or the fact that her biceps extend past her elbows? That's some creepy Giger shit right there.

If I'd gotten more than 3 hours of sleep last night I'd have some (hopefully) clever and borderline lecherous response to that, but instead I'll just sit here and drool.

Yeah, I've gotten hoplessly arbitrary on the matter. I subscribe to a number of gaming magazines and I'm frequently embarrassed to realize that my friendly neighborhood mail carrier saw the high-poly-count tee-tay-tah-too-tees that frequently emblazon the covers... but I'm not so miffed when games themselves do it, because Amazon delivers those discreetly in a plain brown box.

Well, she is an elf...

Anyway, I liked the cover for the original game more (soo beautiful), but this one isn't bad either. [/i]

Not bad, but it´s a clear step backwards from the SF cover.

Hrm, I guess they don't want to sell me this game.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that she looks about ready to trip over her own feet?

lol @ Val

She does look sorta like she's been pulled outta her little elf car by a cop on a Friday night after midnight, and asked to "walk the line" to see if she's perhaps had a little too much troll grog to safely drive.

But to the comments that she looks outta proportion or somthing, I disagree, its a great picture IMHO. It just looks like she's literally a female display or something, which yes, disappoints me in it's application. Not enough to make me not buy the game, but still raises my ire a bit. A tiny bit

Well, I'm just a bit irritated that while people say they want to bring more women into gaming, is anyone actually doing anything that would?
I see a cover like this and it doesn't make me want to buy the game. I makes me want to roll my eyes.
