Remember in the Anaurich, the petrified sphinx? It gave you 3 riddles if you depetrified it. Well, I'm confused. Any way I try to compute the second riddle(the one with the battle), I get a wrong result. Can anyone, walkthrough me?  |

If it's the one about the skirmish, then the answer is 10 males and 6 females.

Yeah, that's the one. I guessed the right answer. But that isn't the issue here. With all calculative powers I couldn't arrive to that response.

It's very easy. He said that he saw 21 pair use their claws to attack & that they use their claws in just male-male battles , so you understand that 3*7=21 , so there are 7 males in 1st group and 3 in second , so 3+7=10
total 10 males. Don't bother counting the female , cause there is only 1 option in which there's 10 males. Hope you understand .

No, no. It's logical. Your way does lead to the right answer.
BUT if I remember correctly the sphinx said everyone attacks everyone(just sexes). The combinations for 10 males are 9+1,8+2,7+3,6+4,5+5 which lead to 18,32,42,48,50 attacks respectively. No odd numbers here. 
That's why I was/am confused. Maybe I just misinterpreted sth. |
