Re-renting a room?

I'm trying to do the mage quest in Anvil, and the person at the Inn outside of town where I was sent tells me to rent a room before she'll speak to me. Problem is, I rented a room at that same Inn to rest and level on my way *to* Anvil, so I can't rent the room again. I have slept a couple of times, but haven't seen her make t to my room yet.

Any clues as to how I can unbreak this quest?

Thanks,

Mike

Well rooms are rent for a day (or night). Perhaps if you let 24 hours pass you could rent it again ?

Nope ... I actually waited for a week, traveling around and resting and doing other stuff. The Innkeeper must be 'stuck'.

On the official forums I found that I need to 'cheat' by "forced the innkeeper script to go through its cleanup function and then I was able to rent the room again. Try the following console command: "set ChristopeMarane.Cleanup to 2" and then talk to the innkeeper again."

I'll give this a try tonight.

Thanks,

Mike

Well, I actually followed the hint given by the mage at the inn. She said to pretend to be a merchant or something like that. So I got myself a Quilted dublet and a Tan Linen pants. Put them on, then talk to the merchant and he will offer you a room for 10 gold. You cannot be wearing your armour, or the inn keeper will not offer you a new room.

There's a mod available now which fixes all the minor bugs in the mage quests. I'd suggest getting it till an official patch is released.
