which of these u consider the MOST important aspect in RPGs? pick one -and i mean ONE-
-storyline
-graphics
-interface
-in-game environment

True, but if one element in particular is very good, like the story or graphics, it can carry the game through if the other elements are poor. Example Gothic: It has a great story, good graphics, and an interesting environment, but a lot of people didn't like the interface. Without the other factors then that could have killed the game. Just my 2 cents.

Yes one very strong can outbalance other three average. But when is extremly bad, nothing will help.
Game with perfect graphics, story, but really unusable graphics is good for nothing.

For an RPG - that is a ROLE PLAYING GAME - I think the most important is the character and character advancement which doesn't really fit into any of your categories. For an RPG the graphics are minimally important (note how populare and fun pencil and paper rpgs are with NO graphics).

I think you'r right bud whit bad AI the game s*ck I think the emimportant are:
Gameplay
AI
Good Story
Verry big
Good Graphics
