German printmag Gamestar claims that acc to Reuters EA wants more of Ubi Soft, incl a leading position and the stock majority. Let's all hope that Ubi can withstand EA's siege!!! |

This does not bode well for fans of R.P.G's. But we don't have much to look forward to anyhow.
I wonder when The Need for Speed: Underground Online is comming out?

Other than french nationalism why would this be a bad thing?
Ubisoft doesnt make all great games themselves, do u all remember pool of radiance?
Im just wondering. EA does make some good games if you are into their stuff, like the sims and madden football. Those games are good for real. |

Hey there,
I think EA has demonstrated, on many occasions, their ability to kill-off and or devolve RPGs under their money tree. EA is not good for RPGs, in my opinion, and it has nothing to do with nationalism. |

Acc to Reuters? Incl a leading position? Multiple exclamation marks? Garrett, you're the worst editor this site's ever had. |

I just hate it when people aren't perfect in their non-native language.
We were hoping the subscription money would make us rich and let us hire Tom Chick and Mark Asher...but then we realised we didn't actually *have* subscriptions and we were stuck with volunteers -- including some for whom English isn't their first language. Honestly, it sucks. Could we at least afford Greg Kasavin? _________________ Editor @ RPGDot |

When I saw that illiterate mess of an editorial on the front page, I worried that your standards were slipping. I didn't realise you'd abandoned them completely. I withdraw my objection. |

Excuse me? Ubisoft DOES make great games, maybe not in the RPG department. Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, Prince of Persia are good examples of that. EA on the other hand hasn't been making any good games of late, except in their football and Sims franchise. I'd rather see the company that cancelled both Ultima Onlines, Earth & Beyond, Ultima RPGs, System Shock 3, Freelancer Online and Wing Commander Online dissolved than seeing them buying up Ubisoft (which is the only rival in their business unless you count in M$). _________________ The world is small, nasty and complicated, and everybody dies alone... - Sam Fisher |

Before starting to talk about french nationalism go back to school. Pool of Radiance was published by Ubisoft (they brought the game boxes to the stores). It was developed by Stormfront Studios.

EA destroyed too many good brands in the past. If they buy Ubisoft Might and Magic will die. |
