Major bug with patched version of NWN

This might be old news, but just in case: apparently the patch to NWN prevents all monsters from using any of their special attacks. This includes dragons breathing, brain devourer from shooting its ray, etc.. I highly recommend waiting until this is fixed before continuing.

Here's the info:

Ooof, what a sticky wicket...

Considering most people patched and to play online you probably have to patch....

At least it seems Bioware is aware, that may mean a quick patch on this one.

Some online groups are taking advantage of this by putting a dragon in a pit and using bows.

Once again, to each his own....I hope you can mark people online so you can remember them later...

geez, that's one big & uglies bug we got in NWN...

this sucks, already halfway through chapter 2 & playing NWn on Harcore D&D rules level; i thought i'm really good coz no monsters could really challenge my kick-assl fighter so far.

Yet again proving that what Bioware ****eth up, Bioware fixeth. I wish all developers were this much on the ball when it comes to patching (although the 1.18 was likely in developement before game release and the 1.19 was probably just someone going 'oops. oh yeah, I knew I missed something...')

Still, some other companies would let it rot for a while.

I look forward to hearing the cries of horror when the dragon-pit droppers get royally breathed on once more.

I'm not really sure if other companies would have let this bug rot that long, it was quite a nasty one. Frankly I was kind of surprised it took them this long to find it, I had read plenty of threads complaining about the dragons and Bioware would pooh pooh them by saying they worked at E3. There were threads complaining about this problem the day after the patch, clearly the people at Bioware don't have any free time to play their own game or it's hard to believe that the bug would have lasted that long. Sort of ruins the myth that developers get to sit around playing games all day

Anyway, they fixed it in time for me and I do agree that Bioware is one of the better companies out there. Hell, neverwinter night as a concept was risky as hell (the DM mode) and I admire them for trying something like this instead of just making BG3.
