Gothic jumps to desktop during Sleeper Invocation movie!

As I enter the hall of the sleeper, after looting the mummies full of potions, the Sleeper Invocation in-game-movie starts. Just as it pans past the giant Sleeper-bug, it shoots back to the desktop with a huge list of zbuffer errors and an option to debug, which just copies the text to the clipboard.

I tried playing with different resolutions, aniso filtering, etc. and still no luck.

Any suggestions? I'm really amazed at the irony- this is probably the best, most immersive game that I've played since Thief and System Shock, but it's just so buggy!

System is a dual AXP2400, 1gb ram, gf4ti4600, Herc GTXP, win2000 sp3, all the latest drivers.

Thanks!

Was this movie a prerendered FMV? If so you can move the file to a different location (you can watch .bnk files with the Bink player from www.radgametools.com ). Then the game should skip the whole movie.

Another option is installing Gothic on another machine, copy the savegame and play for a few minutes.

No, it wasn't fmv- it was a game-rendered movie.

I donīt think you can skip an in-game cutscene. Play past this point on another machine and transfer the savegame.
Or find somebody who still has Gothic installed and let him do it.
