Yes and that's quite soon. I look forward to this mindless hack&slash. I hope they won't dissapoint me with too much story or nonlinearity :].

yes, there is a testing for Dungeon Siege 2 BETA to be downloaded somewhere, (i got it from someone else)

it's pretty neat, but to be reminded, it's just a test, the 4 chapters available are easily finished in around an hour or two, and i've already discovered a few bugs in it, i need more maps though, not sure where to download mods, or even if it's for the actual game, not for the BETA version.

Ds2 Beta

Yes, I managed to play some of the Beta at the weekend, after much faffing around trying to get registered...
Engine looks quite nice, but having been killed approx 15 mins in to the game I didn't go any further.
Wish there was a Single Player Demo - I hate online gaming....

DS2 Demo

So, I've just read in the latest GPG newsletter that a DS2 demo will be included on a bonus DVD with the September issue of PC Gamer.
I'm guessing this is the North American issue of PC Gamer ??
What about a demo for us Brits ??
If there's a demo in existence, when can we download it ??

the game is slated for august 16 according to amazon and ebgames, that is for the states not sure about others.

As for the demo, I got it with my PCgamer, it is quite and improvment from the first one much more depth in all areas. As far as downloading the demo, it is 1.6 GB so I doupt too many places will want to host it, not to menction that is a huge download...like 3 CDS. but it did play for 2 hours or so, so it was longer than most demos.

the PC gamers site still has the info from august's issue, but on the cover of september it should have a little yellow circle on the left just below the title saying it contains DS2 on the DVD, if you see that in britian odds are you got it. and you can look before buying if you do not subscribe

I got the demo disc in PC Gamer this month, and played the demo for like a half hour last night. It does look improved here and there, especially when it comes to skill choices and what not. But it's Dungeon Seige, so it isnt too much a departure from what it always has been. So, my suspicions are if you liked its predecessor, youre gonna like it, and vice versa.

Gonna spend some more time with it today ='.'=

I got it as well. I'll post my thoughts after I've had a chance to play it a little.

Alright, I've blasted my way through the demo. It's pretty big, so you get a good feel for the game. It's basically the same as Dungeon Siege 1, but with many enhancements. For instance, your party members aren't quiet little followers anymore. They'll speak up and add their two cents in every once in awhile. Towns are bigger, there are more quests, puzzles, and secrets to discover. Gameplay is pretty much the same. I was irritated that my heal spell didn't raise my Nature Magic skill anymore.
Some monsters respawn. When you quit then reload, you show up back in town like in Diablo 2. The teleporters are a nice addition and you also get a spell that will take you back to town, then can return you to where you were last. There are new player races you can try out. The graphics and sound are up to par. The voice acting leaves much to be desired however. I wanted to strangle my Dryad companion on more than one occation.

Verdict: If you liked the first one, then you'll like this one. If you were indifferent about the first game, then try the demo and see if you like it.

Is the demo single player only or does it have multiplayer as well?

Thanks.
