Help, Mortis won't give me the option to train my strength

When I talk to him the only option I have is to end the conversation. I was told that once I joined the Militia that he could train my strength and since I have 30 strength already Carl will no longer train me.

There's a 'Mortis-Bug' if I recall correctly, to the effect that if you talked to him while still guildless, he will not train you later on. You might try to reset his script in Marvin mode, but I'm not sure it will fix the problem.

Okay I'll give that a try. Do you happen to know where I can find info about resetting scripts? I've check Gothic@RPGDot and couldn't find anything on using marvin mode to reset scripts.

Let me think about it... it's on GothicDot for sure, in the G1 cheat section (the G1 and G2 cheats are pretty much the same after all). Wait. I think I remember.

The command to reset NPC scripts is F8 (you can also use the command to regenerate health and 'fly'). Here's the whole sequence:

Type bmarvinb (you won't see what you type but the letters 'Marvin mode' will appear in a corner of your screen if you did it right). Then, focus the NPC in question (in this case Mortis), type O (as in Orc), and you'll possess the NPC, looking through his eyes now. To reset his script, press F8. You/Mortis will jump in the air and land again. Afterwards, focus your real character (captioned 'Me' when you look at him) and repossess him by typing O.

Trying won't hurt I guess. Though I doubt it's a 'regular' script crash in Mortis' case.

Thanks. I'll give it a try and post back the results.

Well it didn't work. Oh well. I think I'm gonna start over anyways. In my current game I didn't even make it to Omar's Farm to see his side of the of the Farmer's Revolt before I sided with the Paladins, and from reading a few posts in the General forum it seems like I was rushing myself through the game.

Once again thanks. Do you happen to know of anyother bugs that I should be aware of?
