Hi all!

I've got a Radeon 8500, and I have no problem with games, but Gothic.

It hangs while loading.

Here are some infos:
- Amd 1ghz
- Kt7a raid (VIA HORRIBLE CHIPSET)
- Radeon 8500 with 4.13.9008
- 256 mb RAM

I've setted to "1" the "zfogdesabled" in gothic.ini.

The problem is with Gothic Demo version 1.08j.

Please help me! I've done a 270 mb download to play this demo

The Radeon 8500 seems to be the most critical card for playing Gothic.
One thread down is somebody who got it running on a 8500DV under XP.

-Is the latest 4in1 installed? The patch from ViaHardware also?
-Close every other program running in the background.

Good luck.

Go here:
http://www.viahardware.com/

And grab this:
VIA PCI Bus Transfer Patch

In short words, you trade 2-3% performance for greater compatibility and stablility.
This thing is unofficial, so use at your own risk. Reactions so far are very positive.

If I were you I wouldnīt buy the game until I see the demo running on the ATI. The fact that it runs under XP and doesnīt run under other OSes clearly shows itīs a driver problem. Who knows how long it takes ATI to fix this?

Or is there an old GeForce2 or Voodoo5 collecting dust in your cabinet?
