Most quests are similar for all camps, differences are not big, story is almost same. Bigest difference is in something you can call mood which is very different in each camp.
To choose right camp is important only if you want to be a mage, because:
- Sect camp (only 4 circles)
- New camp (magics only really late in game)
- Old camp (best for mages, relatively early and you will be able to learn all 6 circles (not all there, but story will lead you to them)).

If you like to harbor the illusion of freedom of action and a little bit of anarchy, go and join the New camp.
If you like to harbor the illusion of freedom of mind and a little bit of divine love, go and join the Brotherhood.
If you like guys in mini skirts, go and join the Old Camp. |

Big choice being, if you wanna be a heavy magic user, choose old camp. Everything else is negotiable.
Personally I thought the New Campers were the nicest... The only real "bad guys" in the New camp were Lefty and the Ricelord. But I had this disgusting loyalty streak to Diego, so I joined the old camp the first time I Played. (and of course, joined the 2nd time when I wanted to play as a mage).

I haven't got any problem to join the Brotherhood. This was a very easy way. Just Confince four or five baals. But first talk to Cor Khalom, do this again after you confinced the baals. He 'll give you a novice armour. and you will enter chapter 2.
The old camp isn't very hard either, just impress enough of the named shadows
and maybe you may also do Thorus' quest.
But for the new camp I don't know either, the only thing is that you must start Thorus' quest to have a change to talk to Laris.
Now I'm playing as a Templar

To become a member of the New Camp, you'll also have to take on Diego's test of faith, get the list from ian, bring it to Lares first, and after that back to Diego.

What Jazzy, Said, in essence, New camp is the EASIEST camp to join. all you need is thorus' quest (So Mordrag takes you to new camp). Give Lares 400 ore, and give him the list from the old mine.
Darnalak,
The Necromancer
PS: of course... initially, the new camp has the least amount of benefits... |
