I have only been playing Gothic for a few days and am only level 2.
At what point do I get to choose a Class for my chracter?
Is it when / after I join one of the camps??
This game is so good. I can only agree with all the positive comments that have been posted.
A few people have moaned about some bugs, but reallistically, in a game this complex, I believe that we have to be slightly forgiving. Value for money wise, I paid £30 for this and I can see it lasting me quite a while.
It would be easy to blow £30 in a bar one evening with a few mates...so....lets just enjoy.
By the way, anyone know of a good Pools of Radiance 2 forum ??
Need some info on best weapons to twat the shadows.

You do not "choose" class. You just focus your skills in becoming a mage/ranger/thief/warrior or something in between.

But you do get titles as soon as you join a camp. The only thing I like to mention about camps, is that if you like to become a Mage, choose Old Camp. There are actually no way to reach a sucessful career as a mage in New Camp or Sect Camp. Well, uhm, you can become a 'complete' mage in New Camp, but you cannot start your training until its far to late in the game.

Best Regards

The beauty of this game is that by altering what stats and skills you boost you can change the style of play quite a bit - making it more fun the second or third time around. The Templar (magic plus melee) is quite different from a pure mage or pure melee. Now I am playing an Archer - again different enough to enjoy. So pick which you want first - then boost the stats and skills appropriate for that "class"
