The release notes for the latest Toontown online patch indicate that Halloween-themed items have been added to the in-game "Cattlelog."

I visit this site daily. At least 2 or 3 years straight.
This is the first Toontown Online newsbit I have seen I think.
Does this game have an actual subscriber base?
I cannot imagine Toontown Online being profitable. Hey, not that I am a Scrooge and do not like Toontown but how much interest in a Toontown persistent world on the PC can there be?
According to the site it was Computer Gaming Worlds MMORPG of the Year in 2003?
Then again, they have Disney money backing them. I can picture developers making phone calls to corporate asking for a budget reevaluation meeting and 20 mintues later, a guy in a black suit walks in with a duffle bag of cash and says; "A meeting will not be necessary." and walks out, never to be seen again. |

It's not a bad little game. Atleast, it wasn't a year or two ago when my girlfriend and I got bored and tried it. |

Toontown has a subscriber base of over 100,000 and growing, making it a fair amount bigger than many games we cover regularly. It's definitely a kid's MMO, but I cover it for the sneaky parents who wanna get their kids hooked on online games. Hey, it's better than TV! _________________ For each toon kills the mob he 'groes, yet each toon does not die. |
