I've got way more points from potions than that! There are a lot of potions in the Orc Cemetery and Sleeper Temple.

Well, it’s time to play devil’s advocate. I Swear by the bow! I have just finished the first stage of the Sleepers lair and found the bow an excellent weapon. I have mastered all weapons and love my Demon’s Bow. With Dx at about 70-80 I can take out most opponents before they reach me. The greater Dx the greater the distance of attack. Hell, I was hitting Orc Temple Warriors when they were mere dots on my screen. The only bad thing I found about using the ranged weapons is the fact they will strike your own guys.

The second bad thing is that you get the xp only once.

Stand in front of them and hold down the use button until the inventory pops up. You'll see the mummies stuff in the leftmost column.

Some Mummies doesnt have names, but if they "lit up" when you stand right in front of them, then they are "openable".

Alright, you just convinced me to go through the game as a Bowman.

I would strive to master all weapons…each has its strengths and weaknesses. The bow is no good in close combat and you will do hand to combat in this game. I like to climb the rocks and find a vantage point from where I can pick off the bad guys.

Also in the beginning the Bow is a great weapon. I killed Kiro and Kasim with a bow when I was level 2 - 3.

P.S. This is based on Demo, I don't now how it is to play Bowman in the rest of the game.

Since I already completed the game once, Id like to try the game with different perspectives. Giving me some more "challenge" by not buying that 2h weapon that everyone else is using...

I can easily reach bow master and 134 in dex, so Id like to try out once, just to know if that is enough to 'rock'.

If that isnt enough, I will just start over and try something else.

The idea of "Thief" is interesting. Dont know if it works, or how to do it... But Id like to give it a chance some time.

So far my opionion is that Mage's doesnt need strength. You can gain 22 points for free and then use the Orc Hammer if you like a decent 1h weapon. I might be wrong thou since my character already had 55 strength when I started to play as a mage.

I am playing a mage with some melee capability. I joined OC, so I won't have any magical capability until I cleared the Minecrawler Nest. Some melee skill is necessary for my survival.

Guild: Shadow
Level: 9
Skill Points: 45

STR: 24 (10 + 5 + 3 + 1 + 5)
DEX: 10
MANA: 10 (5 + 5)

1-Handed Weapon: Level 2
Lockpicking: Level 1
Hunting Skills: all 4

Gomez is such an ass. He killed me because I lied to him by saying I have met Y'berion.

The bow has its place, it was invaluable for me at the beginning levels of the game as you can pick a high point and hammer away at your enemies below.

I used this to take out snappers, orcs, orc dogs, biters in any area with raised embankments, and also nailed the fire lizards by the crashed boat (from atop the boat) to get a couple of easy levels. luring skeletons and backing them into the wall and using the left/right combo with 1h weapons is handy too - you can go from level 5 - 10 or 12 pretty quickly by heading into a certain area.

Right now i have a level 21 mage of water. I went from shadow to guard to mage of fire, to mage of water. I skipped on the crossbow training because ranged weapons seem to get less important as the game progresses and you get stronger.

str = 56
dex = 36
man = 43
1h l2 - orc hammer
2h l1 - Cor kalom's bodyguard's 2h sword
bow l1 - bullit's long bow
4th circle magic

sneak no
acrobatics yes
no theif skills (none needed)

20 game hours total time elapsed (18 days 58 minutes iirc)

And i am just going to start a converation with Xardos somwhere into Chapter 4.

Actually I was kinda quick when I wrote that.

It seems like the general idea is that a Bow is much faster than Crossbow.

When I finish the game with my current character (a mage) I will try to play a Ranger/Rogue kind of character, with maximized thiefskills, maximized dexterity and maximized bow. No strength.

Best crossbow
Crossbow of war 100 damage
Or you can grab the south gate's guard's heavy crossbow (forgot his name) 90 damage.
Best bow I found
Uhm... I think it did around 55 damage

Bow skill is useless since you can learn Crossbow without Bowskill. Crossbow's even at beginners class does far more damage than bows (to the extreme).

2h weapons is interesting and in the end you can really swing them fast. With 1h the enemies can reach you but you have difficulties to reach them. Thats the point of spending 70p to get 2h swords. You will still be able to boost up to 100 strength if you wish (you get enough skillpoints).

100 is maximum in dex/str.

Str is far more important than Dex, as long as you can use light crossbow (reached the dex value, wich you can do with normal rings) you dont need either crossbow skill or more dex. Put the points in str instead.

As long as you are going to be a Warrior. Wizards does best to put their points into magic.

Magic will cost 10+15+20+25+30+40 points...

Acrobatics is worthless
Pickpocketing is worthless
Advanced lockpick is worthless
Bow skill is worthless

Best Regards
JemyM

What??? Bow Skills are not worthless. Bow skills are extremely useful especially when u start playing the game... There is no possible way to kill your enemies without bow skills in the beggining when u dont have any armor choices... whats useless in beginning is sword training since anyways u cannot approach enemies with ur shitty armor... i killed so many things as a newbie with master bow skills, got filthy rich from that point on, and have no problem now moving on and buying state of the art equipment and kicking ass of anything that moves... I used to be able to kill shadows and rogues and other hardcore enemies with the bow when i was just armorless cause the trick is to climb on anything that is of high altitude (e.g. climb on hut, rocks, etc...) and kill ur enemies without much trouble with the bow...and it only costs u 30 points to become bow master, and also now i m using crossbow without any crossbow skills and it seems like i m a master at it, like using bow with same accuracy but better damage...

I reached L14 using nothing but 2L 1H sword and diggers trousers.

In the worst occations I could kill monsters at long range with bow without any skill at all.

However, when trying it out, Id like to say that a master bowman is far better than a master crossbow user.
Bow's are alot quicker, wich does the trick.

I have played through the Old Camp three times now, and you rarely have to kill anything to become money independent. All its require is grabbing the first lockpick you find, then start to use the "Save, test combination on a chest, Load, use the code you found" technique. It takes about 1hour to go through the Old Camp, but then you will not have any more money problems in the remaining of the game, as long as you use your next level to grab the hunting skills (get skins & stuff), wich should be bought as quickly as possible.

You may call it - Quick & Dirty income, then long time investment

Best Regards
JemyM
