Is this a bug or am I just not clever enough?
I enter chapter 2 (minecrawler's nest) in the game and walk to the old mine only to discover that it's closed. No character speaks anything about opening (or how to open) the gate. I transform into meatbug and walk right beside the gate and change back to human again so I'm inside now. I kill the queen. Come back to the gate only to find it's still closed. Forced to use the marvin cheat...

It sounds like a bug. See if you can correctly deliver the eggs and finish the quest.
You donīt have to enter the Old Mine again.

I checked through "Tips & Tricks" section and found out that it is indeed a bug.

Many have had just that same annoying problem, especially with gates & winches. Anyway I have played the game to level 3 now and that gate thingy has been the only bug I have found. Occasional crashes ofcourse happen

Sounds familiar.
If you are close to the Old Mine again you could try this cheat. Would be interesting to know if it works.

BTW I forgot to mention that the meatbug trick doesn't work from inside the old mine's gate, only from outside and it only works with that gate AFAIK.
I'll have to try that console command... just for fun. |
