I cannot open boxes, nor doors. No matter which way I turn, the lock does not let go. In some doors or boxes I got up to two clicks, but when I go further the pick breaks or it just says its the wrong way. |

Welcome to the forum.
When lockpicking you need to figure out the combination of the lock by turn the pick left and right, when you've done it the wrong way you will fail or the lockpick will break. Just keep trying, the combinations are always the same.
Some doors or chests can't be lockpicked since the need a certain key to open. |

I know that the combination should be the same. So if I start to lockpick left, and the pick breaks it means I should start from right. Then I start again, but this time from right and the pick breaks. I played Gothic some time ago, and I know it worked. This time it doesn't. I have version 1.08k. Is it the newest? As I read somewhere the patches fix only performance problems.
Is there a way to fix my problem? |

Maybe you chose a chest which requires a special key. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

It must be a script problem. The locks opened after a while. It's the same bug that some walkthrough tell you about an axpensive sword accessible in a hole of castle wall. I managed to open that door when I first play gothic. In fact Gomez holds the key to it, so one should not be able to open it with a lockpick.
This is how it goes with software, doesn't always work as it is supposed to. |
