Heart of Eternity - Your Questions Please

Hi,

UDC agreed to an interview on Heart of Eternity. Drop a line here if you have any questions you want me to ask...

I just hope the number of replys to this thread indicates your trust in us asking the right questions anyway; not the general interest in this game...

I'm mildly interested in the game since it looks like the same type of game as Gothic 1/2. But there's practically zero information on their site about it.

Here's a few questions, edit them down as you see fit.

Is it one player character only or will you have a party or any followers? I'm assuming the answer is single character only which is fine.

What choices do we have when creating our character? Number of Races? Which Races? Number of classes? Which classes? The official site says you must "reincarnate in one of three heroes: the knight, the magician, or the barbarian..." but in the only interview I can find they mention playing as a "thief".

How will the advancement system work? Will it be like Morrowind where your skills go up with use & training? Or like the Gothic system? Or like a D&D system? Or something else? If you have skills, what skills?

What spells are there and how does the magic & spellcasting system work?

Is there stealth, pickpocketing, and lockpicking?

What monsters (or at least what type of creatures and enemies) are in the world?

That's all I can think of offhand...pretty basic stuff that should be on their website already.

The only interview I've seen is gone. The links are dead and it cannot be found on the GenGamers site at all anymore. Ask them why that is too.

They need to put SOME info on their webpage. Otherwise how can we think this game isn't just more vaporware that will never get completed?

If they have a non-english site that has more info on it then ask them when they'll update the english site.

Well, its hard to ask questions, when you know nearly nothing about this title. Only ideas I have are standart RPG questions like races, quests, nonlinearity, story..., everything Majnun already mentioned.

Its because GenGamers recently decided to focus on FPS only and removed all other materials. Ill ask them for permission te reprint it.

Thanks,

Parc

Good idea. I used to quite like GenGamers - they often found more obscure reviews/previews.

Other than the obvious questions I would like to know:

What role does combat play? Is combat the major focus of the game or can combat be avoided with the right approach and skills?

How important are non-combat skills in the game and can you give us an example? Is there a Speech skill or similar?

Are there multiple solutions to quests? Can you give us an example of a quest and different approaches to the solution?

Nice interview, Parc. The game sounds great - I quite like the diplomacy stuff they mentioned.
