This whole thread is becoming ridiculous. I had thought our forums, and the opportunity for reader comments, were very warranted. That things might get rather "hot" at times - well that is the nature of different opinions that cannot reconcile.
Whether another staff member agrees or, in this case, disagrees with a collegue's ratings, reviews, comments, or whatever - taking a public forum such as this to express such is, quite frankly, very unprofessional, and reflects very poorly upon the RPGDot structure as a whole.
Bottom line - everyone has an intelligent mind, an opinion, etc. And while we have forums for our readers to freely express their opinions - that doesn't mean that people can realistically hope to utilize these same forums to assume they have either the right, the perogative, or the authority to force their own opinions and wishes upon another's...in more blunt terms...if you don't like my writings - no one is forcing you to read them - and no one is even attempting to force you to agree with anything I say. |

I don't think they meant to stomp on your toes, Kristophe.
They have some valid points. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

I have Sudeki and I think it's a fine game. I wouldn't give it a 98%, but that's just MY opinion. I assumed when I read the review that 98% was KRISTOPHE'S opinion. I thought he did a great job in the text describing the games positives and negatives. Also, the rating system Kristophe used doesn't rate the game's story, role-playing quality or any of a number of other factors. The game does have great graphics and it is a lot of fun despite what I think are some deficiencies in the story and role-playing. I think his score is valid within the parameters of the scoring system that he used.
If you go to Gamerankings or Metacritic, you can see that 1 critic gave Sudeki a 100 score, 9 critics gave it a 90, and about another dozen gave it an 85 or higher. Sure, there were scores in the 50s, 60s and 70s as well, but so what. That only places this game more in the "Love It or Hate It" category. I don't think Kristophe's score is so outlandish given the number of scores from other critics rating it at 85 or higher. I've played the game and would give it around an 80, but that's my opinion.
The world is full of diverse opinions. That's one of the reasons I come to this site; it has the widest diversity of opinions of any gaming site I've visited. I respect Kristophe's opinion, even as one provided in the context of a reviewer for RPGDot, even though I don't completely agree with it. I can sift through the parts I disagree with on my own and without getting all worked up. _________________ Apologize, v.i. To lay the foundation for a future offense.
