It mentions the interview with Mike Hoge at 4players.de(see gothicdot) where he said that they are currently planning on doing gothic3 and that it will be based on another engine. You can also read there that it's very unlikely there will be map editor tools for gothic2.

Gothic 3

The link leads to an interview with one of the G2 game designers - besides stating that there will not be any tools for creating your own G2 maps, and that there may be an add-on for G2, he gives a short statement on Gothic 3: There will definitively be a third part, it will lead us to the mainland, and it will use a new graphics engine.

So the waiting continues... even if you have finished Gothic 2 yet

And since I just received my copy of G2, let's start nagging PB about G3 already! We want it to be a single/multi-player/MMORPG, don't we? And we want mounts, no blocking animations, and... and...

Gorath, I think it's well about time for some sort of poll/questionaire about what people would like to see in G3.

We should definitely start worring immediately! No, better: found a new fansite, with that article outlined in gold, and news updated on hourly basis, with regular newsletters and so on..

I'm sorry for this useless post, it's just that I'm disgruntled by the frequency of updates on official gothic site.. And, I'm sure I'm not the only one. Thank God we have RPGDot

Umm okay.... if you see it that way. For me, realistically, the time I actually will get to play Gothic 2 still seems so far away.

But you're right it's a long time until the english version is realesd, we still have to wait a couple of months
I tought a litlle about gothic3, and I don't think that it's such a good idea. Making 2 gothics is okay, but 3 of them? They will have to put alot of changes to make it different from the other two parts, but they still have to make it simillar ( I mean the climate of the game ) , it's a really hard task, I'm not saying that they are not capable of doing so, but I'm full of bad feelings about this
