Dungeon Siege 2: v2.1 Patch

Looks like it's 'Dungeon Siege II' theme day...FilePlanet has a v2.1 patch for this freshly-released title. The patch notes don't look too interesting:
1. Created a segmented file save system for GameSpy file size compatibility.

2. Adjusted GameSpy vaulting protocols to compensate for party save files during loss of connection.
We'll bring you some other mirrors as soon as we see them.

Warning from Gas Powered Games concerning various hacked versions of DS2:

http://garage.gaspowered.com/?q=node/973

quote:
The Dangers of a Hacked EXE

Wednesday, August 17, 2005 - 19:03

Hi folks,

GPG is aware of several hacked versions of DS2 being available. Please be aware that savegame incompatibilities between the legitimate retail version and the hacked versions will cause savegames to become invalidated as certain compatibility checkpoints are passed, and as we update the game. Any issues encountered with these hacked versions will be unpatchable and unresolvable with any savegames the hacked versions create.

We won't be able to help with any problem on a system with a hacked EXE. Nor will any of our patches work with a hacked EXE. And since the hacked EXEs don't create compatible saves, you won't be able to switch back to the normal EXE to patch, and then load in the hacked savegames. If you are using a cracked EXE, your savegames are already unrecoverable. Please stop now and restart with a legitimate installed version of the game.

GPG wishes to support legitimate bugs encountered to the best of our ability. If you know you are using a cracked version, the information you provide will not be useful in our investigations, as you have a myriad of bugs all your own to contend with.

My intent here was to bring this item to the attention of those who post the news on Rpgdot. There doesn't seem to be a forum where we are able to make Staff aware of possible News worthy items so I've attach it to this DS2 Patch News Post.
