Temple of Illusions help. *possible spoilers*

Hello all,

I'm at the beginning of the temple of illusions and am stuck pretty bad. I'm at a wall with two rows of four switches by the snake picture behind a gate. For the life of me I haven't figured out what to do with the switches. I've tried flipping them and looking around for clues on an order to flip them etc.

If anyone could give me a nudge in the right direction it would be most appreciated.

*edit*
Nevermind, I figured it out. Answer was right in front of me. *slaps forehead*

I'm now stuck in the same temple. I found this golden snake, but what to do next to finish this quest? There is 8! different lever combinations, and it will take 112 hours to try all of them. Please spoil me...

If you are where I think you are, then there is a sign to the left from the levers that says "Not all is what you see" or something like that
Anyway you have to use the "Reveal" spell to see what is real and what is not...
