ultima IX: shamino statues

I just got the 7th anniversary edition of UO and have been playing ultima IX for a bit. I'm pretty far in the game, but I have a nagging feeling i'm missing something.. Shamino appeared near the first shrine in a statue and said he'd talk to me via other statues. Well, i've seen a few of these statues, but he doesn't speak to me! Did I not trigger something I was supposed to?

Thanks a bunch! As long as I didn't miss something that's all I wanted to know!

I had the same problem with the statues not talking. Don't worry about it.

Well, I beat it now! From what I'd heard, it was buggy, but for me that was the only part that was messed up (other than a few random crashes).. A good game!
