Atari...not too interested in G2? |
|
I went on the Atari site earlier today to see what they were saying about their plans for G2. To my dismay, nothing about G2 was there to be found. NOTHING. No plans, no pictures, not even a quick summary.
Do you think that they are not putting much enthusiasm into the game, or that they just havent had time to get info on G2 on their site with all the infogrames merger/deal/whatever the hell they did? _________________ I don't do autographs. |

E3 consumes a lot of resources. Have a look at Bluesnews; you'll notice for the last week there hasn't been the usual compilation of game reviews that appears every day. Not one game review on the whole net for a week - because reviewers are too busy, I imagine. A publisher needs to prepare movies, screenshots, rolling demos, playable demos, brochures, signs, posters and websites for the big event. I think this would take months to prepare.
Toss in a company conversion to Atari and the simultaneous worldwide distribution of Enter The Matrix on 4 platforms and I'd think Atari/Infogrames are a bit overwhelmed at the moment. |

I checked out the Swedish version, and they have G2 listed, and it says it will come out 13/6 I think. I also e-mailed them and asked, but I haven't got a reply yet (maybe because it's holiday). _________________

Well at least that's more reassuring than "Atari just doesn't care." I somehow forgot about E3 when I first wrote the post. _________________ I don't do autographs. |

I think Dhruin is totally correct in his belief on this. I to thought the same thing when I read when ETM was coming out at the same time as the movie. That probably put a great deal of strain on their opperation. They had tomake sure it was the best quality they could manage for a release, package it, and ditribute it out in force to the venders in time for it's release. I also have no doubt that Infogrames/Atari has done some work on G2, and I am very sure we will hear form them soon on the progress of this, hopefully, great title. |

Now I have an answer from Atari, or Infogrames Nordic, I don't know. They say that if everything's working, the game will be out June 13th in Sweden. _________________

Gothic 2 in Swedish, that would be terrible! Well, any game in Swedish would be. |

We're not like for example the Germans, who even have translated film speech from english to German. _________________

Scandinavia and Benelux get English versions of games and movies. These markets are too small to justify translation costs. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |
