Strange Lockup

My game freezes sometimes (opening chests, talking to NPCs,etc.) Sometimes it tells that there was an error in NWN.exe and the rest of the time it freezes (can still see the game but they is a square where I can see my Windows mouse, not the NWN mouse.)

500Mhz
327Mb RAM
64mg GeForce 2 mx pro
direct x 8.1
ESS Solo sound card

I have tried to set my sound acceleration to none but no results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just tried NWN again and saw what it says in the bottom message box when it freezes. Something about "Out of Code Segment"

I'd do two things- make sure you've got good video drivers, and then do a reinstall of NWN. Clearly, something's out of whack and those two things are likely suspects.

I fixed it. I thought that my old sound card was to blame, so I disabled sound. So far, so good.

It came back. Whenever I come in contact with a rabid dog in Blacklake, it locks up. Damn it!

I would definitely reinstall, as well as well as update the patches (or downgrade).
