The blood argument is something I may agree with.

This is interesting ... because we've had the M-rating discussion, and I stand with GamerDad's Dave Long on this one - it really should have been M. There are things you see regularly in dungeons and other areas that you could have found in Quake IV.

But as to how the nudity is shown ... that seems a bit dodgy. It isn't like you can go into the console and type 'show nudity = 1' or something ... there is apparently an art file in an archive that can be used to create nude models.

I guess my 'litmus test' is the that for GTA, you could enable those things with a few button-presses ... if someone could enable this using a controller on the XBOX360 I'd feel the same way. But if you have to essentially 'build a mod' ... that is different. I think it is a bit of a reach when the existence of a nude texture locked in files not intended for use and hidden from casual access is enough ...

But by that token, shouldn't *EVERY* game that is in any way moddable / skinnable be rated M? And what about those that use audio files such as ogg or mp3? Those can be replaced easily enough ... shouldn't *those* be M? Are we now on the slippery slope, where the possibility of something being done by someone at sometime is enough to justify the mature rating?

The nudity is but a sly deception

Laddies ye got it all wrong! Tis not about nudity and titilating tittlewinks! Those are but distractions to cover up the deception of Bethesda trying to get over on the ESRB ratings by lying about just how violent their product truly was then blaming the Modders for their woes calling them vile crimminal hackers.Alas the new dictionary word for backstabber is Bethesda

Now watch ol faithful ones once they block the nudity Bethesda will have a false tantrum about still having a M rating pretending to forget about all the bodily mutilations and disturbing subject manner such as necrophilia, brotherhood assasins etc still in the game. Oh the unquenchable monster of greed never satisfied never caring to do things the right way.I would rather play the twisted POSTAL 2 because I am sure of what I will be getting out of the box then any future Bethesda games that pretend to be as great as ARENA and DAGGERFALL created by those who long ago moved on to other shining shores of gaming.

Thank the Rpg Gods for NEVERWINTER NIGHTS 2 and GOTHIC 3!

Thats American mentality for you they dont mind spending all their money on wars invading weaker countries killing families and children and taking control over their oil and also dont mind selling guns to pretty much any one (and they never change it) But if theres one little nudity in a game they all freak out.

Wich is pretty funny look at their country with all there blonde trash pornstars waving around their flag weee we're proud of are trash

But they dont actually care if people kill each other or that there is violence or nudity in the games they just wanna make themselves look good in front of the people and specially the "Parents"

Thats American Mentality for you never ceases to amaze me

I understand that this is a European based website, but I really don't appreciate the America-Bashing here... I come here to take a break from all that kind of stuff.

And don't get me wrong, I even agree with some of what you wrote, but it's frustrating to see the bashing when I come here. I consider this place a top-notch gaming site and don't like to see it diminished by these kinds of comments.

From where I sit, and despite a lot of the lunacy you percieve about America from your part of the world, I could point out a lot of weird behaviors and outcomes of other countries too.

But all you'll ever really read from me is how much I like the RPGs coming out of Europe - and that's the way it should be.

Whether or not you agree with what he said, it was inappropriate and frustrating for people who are just here to discuss games.

Oblivion should have been rated M, but for the reasons that have been previously cited.

Actually only in Marlborough do they think this way. Folks in Boston are sooooo metropolitan

Seriously enough with the anti US stuff or we will take our games back.

There is a clasp on the back you have to unhook, unfortunately males have a -5 to open modifier. It helps if you can successfully roll a 'shirt removal' as well.

@ the unwelcome "guest" -

The progress we have made in helping mentally handicapped people such as yourself to have accessibility to computers and the internet like the rest of us, is what never ceases to amaze me.

That will never happen United States is the most hated Country in the world and you have you're president and the people to thank for it so if there is any actual decent people living there the president and the idiots living there make them look like fools with there kill kill mentalities.

Pretty much every country has its faults but the states just takes the cake its on about the same level and even worse then those terrorist related countries.

I'm not from Europe either and as you can guess not the states either lol if the states got rid of bush and had a decent president and they got their humanity back then i'm sure the bashing will calm down but it will never happen always sticking their nose where it doesnt belong and try to police every one.

But to be honest not just because i dont like the states they do have the worst game developers and games all just crappy boring military shooters come on do something else for a change lol.

Europe and Japan are the best are developing games well not Russia everything i've seen them has been worse then the States
