Grrrreat game! How long is it????

Hey people,

I just picked up Arx Fatalis in order to tide my RPG addiction over until G2 - Night of the Raven comes out. I must say that I never would have purchased this game if it wasn't for a review here on RPGdot. (The box cover didn't intrigue me any... and I'm one of those stupid people that occasionaly purchase games soley if the box makes it sound cool. )
Anyway, I'm really glad I bought Arx Fatalis anyway, because this game has sucked me in. I haven't been this excited since Gothic 2 came out. Unfortunately I have very little time to play games, and have more unfinished ones than I would care to admit. So can anyone give me a rough idea of how many hours I'm looking at to finish this game? That way I have a goal to shoot for. Thanks

It is somewhat short in comparison to others, I'dsay 40 to 80 hours depending on how much you like to play with the environment, how through you search each area, and if you use the walkthrough as you go or as a reference after you play a while. Read a few posts here and it will help you decide. I think the walkthrough is a must if you don't want to waste time and get frustrated. Only bad part of the game was lack of direction as to what to do next. Also be sure you download and install the patch if you haven't yet. It is a must to finish as well. Enjoy, I loved it.

Thanks cmckj50. That means I'll probably take around 80 hrs to play as I'm pretty deliberate in my gameplay. And yes, I've already downloaded the patch and walkthrough. I'm certainly not opposed to using those!

Not trying to discourgae you or anything but I found the first few hours of arx to be FAR more entertaining than the mid and end game, when the puzzles start to become a little illogical and the difficulty rises quite a bit. I still enjoyed it though.
