best Intro for a computer game

hey guys I've got a question for you all
what's the best intro you ever saw for a game?
in my opion the best intro I saw was for conflict Freespace, it got you all hyped for the game, whenever I started playing I actully let the intro on Freespace play all the way, something that in any other game normally doesn't happen after the first time I play any game.

so any thoughts?

I think probably Fallout 2 for me. I still like to watch that intro sometimes.

Wing Commander 3 was cool. I also like the intros in Tie Fighter, Warcraft 2, Dune 2, Command and Conquer 1-4, World of Warcraft and Alpha Centauri.

DoW had a quite impressive intro, true... one of the few intros of more recent games I remember. I don't know about the intros, but I remember I liked the FMVs of Diablo I/II, Zork: Nemesis and Realms of the Haunting.

Hmm intro movies

Well I gotta agree that World of Warcraft was good and I would love to see a full Dawn of War movie like the intro and I loved the intros to both Fallouts.

However the first one to really catch my imagination (and this is going back 15+ years and switching to the Amiga 500) was a game called Infestation by the now defunct Psygnosis. It realy captured the mood of the game and (for the limited hardware) looked terrific. Infestation was the true "game of the movie" for Aliens fans (instead of the officail sideways scrolling shooters <shivers>)

It must have been good for me to remember it all these years later (although I may have slight rose tinted specs on )

Ultima Underworld 2. Very atmospheric.
Oh, and the Thief 1 FMVs were great, too. Unfortunately you don't see this style much.

I have to agree about DoW Intro, although I thought space marines were really fragile in it.
it was a good intro though

@Hindukönig: Yes, the Thief 1 painted FMVs were great, too. Strife had a pretty good comic book style intro and NPC portraits, love them to this day.

Gothic 1 intro, it was so, well unclear, you know nothing of the game after seeing it, that you just wanted to go and explore

I think Anarchy Online's is the best hands down. Its the only one I saved and I still watch it occasionally.
