It would help if we knew what you had already played. The cheapest recomendation, would be to download some of the excellent mods available for NWN. I've been playing quite a few lately. If you want the titles of some good ones, just ask. Have you played Arx, DD and Gothic? _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

He means BUY NWN (it's on sale for under $30 in the US now) and THEN download the user-made modules. Poor Corwin's getting "up in the years" and he sometimes forgets to spell out critical steps.
Although they're "old school", unlike MW and G2, Wizardry 8 and Might & Magic 7 are excellent RPGs that supply MANY hours of gaming. You should be able to find both titles for around $20. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Under 30 bucks? You could probably get Planescape:Torment and Deus Ex and still have change... those two are all-time classics IMO, but it kind of depends on your tastes. What did you like/dislike about Gothic and Morrowind? |

goto www.gamesdomain.com and goto the demos section then the "I" catagory...you will find a game called infinite worlds..it is a pretty decent game....i just recently started playing it...it has single and multiplayer...it has a bit of a learning curve but is decent and the graphics are decent......

You're talking about the game 'Demise' |
|
I agree, it's a pretty good game, but Infinite Worlds, the sequel to VB Designs 'Mordor' is actually titled 'Demise.' It's gone through a lot of name changes; firs Mordor 2, then Infinite Worlds, and finally Demise.
Both Mordor and the more recent Demise can be found here:

Both are fun, and the shareware versions of both games offer HOURS of fun. The games are low tech, and more stats-based as opposed to puzzle based.
The games are reminiscient of the old Temple of Apshai games, but good mindless treasure hunts nonetheless.
But any, just to echo the recommendations of other posters.
As far as bargains go, isometric games that are pretty fun are Divine Divinity and also Planescape. And dont forget Fallout I and II.
First person, maybe find a of the new Might and Magic compilation (with VI through VIII). All good games, especially VII.
A good freebie, and it's not for every one, it Faery Tale Adventure II: Halls of the Dead. A good abandonware game, however it has a steep learning curve. |

Although most RPG's are on PC, you could try one on a console. I hear the FF's on PS2 're pretty good. I 'll bet there cost will be under 30$. |
