Difference between S/M/L ship variants? |
|
Exactly what is says on the tin...
I cant seem to examine the ships at the shipyard before I buy them, so I have no idea what the difference is.
Can anyone tell me?
Edit: Never mind, I found out you can press "i" to get info on them, even in the list. _________________ IMHO my opinion is humble |

I had this question a while back, too. In case we get a new poster with the same question:
The difference is in the level of shields the ship starts with. For example, an Argon Express S starts with 3x1MW shields, the AE-M starts with 3x5MW shields, and the AE-L starts with 3X25MW shields.
As far as I know, that's the only difference. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

I think you get better weapons too, but I haven't checked this out yet. According to the egosoft boards, you're actually better of to buy an S, sell the shields etc and then buy what you want. Supposedly it's cheaper than just buying an M or L. Again, I haven't tested this personally. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

It's marginally cheaper to buy a 'S' and then the appropriate bits but the difference is so small (IIRC ~$2k on a $2M Nova) that it's not really worth worrying about (I guess patches might have changed this). Usually the availability of 'L' ships is the decider. _________________ Editor @ RPGDot |
